Bali, 22 April 2025 – Following the successful opening of its newest and largest aircraft maintenance facility on the Island of the Gods (Pulau Dewata – Bali), PT Avia Technics Dirgantara, better known as FL Technic Indonesia, is now stepping up and taking an active role in promoting sustainability and driving local community engagement.
Further demonstrating its commitment, FL Technics Indonesia organized a beach cleanup event titled #ClearedForCleanup at Jerman Beach, Bali, on April 19, 2025. This marks the company’s first social initiative in collaboration with the local community in its operational area, reinforcing its continuous efforts to raise awareness about waste management and environmental responsibility.
Held in conjunction with Earth Day 2025, this initiative also supports the Bali Waste Cleanup Movement, launched on April 12, 2025, by the Bali Provincial Government, which encourages cross-sector collaboration to preserve the environment and enhance Bali’s appeal as a sustainable tourism destination.
Martynas Grigas, The President Director of FL Technics Indonesia, says, “Inspired by the aviation term “cleared for”, which signals readiness for action, #ClearedForCleanup represents our commitment to making a tangible impact on sustainability and community engagement. From the hangar to the beach, from aircraft maintenance to nurturing the environment we thrive in, we hope this initiative will also inspire others in the industry to balance business success with environmental stewardship”
According to Indonesia’s National Waste Management Information System (SIPSN), Bali generated over 1.2 million tons of waste in 2024. Meanwhile, a report from the Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR) highlights a 30% increase in waste volume in Bali from 2000 – 2024, driven by tourism growth and limited public awareness of proper waste management. Initiatives like #ClearedForCleanup plays a crucial role in fostering collective action and sustainable solutions.
For this event, FL Technics Indonesia partnered with Sea Soldier, an environmental community renowned for its active efforts in marine and coastal preservation. Alongside the FL Technics Indonesia team, who actively participated in the cleanup, a total of 130 kg of waste was collected, sorted, and processed using environmentally friendly methods.
FL Technics Indonesia believes that environmental preservation should be an integral part of corporate culture and pursued through an inclusive approach involving the employees, local communities, and industry partners. “We aim to grow alongside Bali, not only as an industry player but as a community partner. Through #ClearedForCleanup, we hope to spark long-term collaboration between the industry and the community to deliver concrete actions for the environment. Because sustainability can’t stand alone; it requires care and cross-sector collaboration,” concludes Martynas.
